Has it always been a dream of yours to write and publish a book? Have you been sitting on your powerful message and story for too long and now you’re not sure what to do with it? Conscious Dreams Publishing is an award-winning indie publishing house that prides itself on creating high-quality books that educate, inspire, entertain and empower its readers. Navigating the publishing process can often be a minefield and the number one reason so many potential authors never publish that book. Along with our experienced and professional team, we work co-creatively beside you, bringing your vision to life so that you can have a book you can be proud of.
We are well known for our diverse books, and we are especially interested in giving a platform to fresh voices that promote diversity and inclusion. Over the last six years, we have published over 200 books helping authors create books of influence for generations to come.
Developing the author is just as important as developing the book. We run a variety of workshops that help develop essential skills such as writing, self-publishing book marketing, PR and speaking.
We provide bespoke publishing and mentoring services for authors with powerful messages and stories to share with the world. Together, we bring your vision to life.
Formulate a strategic marketing and promotion plan that suits both your book and your audience. No two books are the same. We help you create the right strategy for you.
We are passionate about developing young writers. Our Storytelling Workshops and, publishing and mentoring services, give our young people the confidence to excel as authors.
At Conscious Dreams Publishing, we work with authors from all backgrounds, walks of life, races, genders, abilities and disabilities and are dedicated to amplifying the voices of marginalised groups and underrepresented authors.
According to the Centre for Literacy in Primary Education’s (CLPE) Reflecting Realities report, ‘9% of children’s books published in the UK in 2021 had a main character from an ethnic minority background, compared to 8% in 2020, 5% in 219, 4% in 2018 and 1% in 2017.’ These figures do not reflect the reality we live in or the lives and backgrounds of so many children living in the UK. Every child deserves to see themselves represented in children’s literature.
We pride ourselves on giving a platform to unheard voices and unseen characters and changing the narrative around addressing the balance. We’ve published over 100 authors of African and Caribbean descent and would love to hear from other underrepresented groups too. Meet some of our authors of African-Caribbean heritage and find out how their journey with Conscious Dreams publishing was for them. Representation matters.
